Babettes g�stebud (1987)

Great movie told very well. The levels and tones of sacrifice, mercy, grace and giving are great.

SPOILERS

I see Babette as a Christ-like figure setting aside (not by choice in this case) her "glory" for a time to serve others. She challenged their perceptions on what is acceptable and allowable and how to we can enjoy things we wdn't expect.

The "feast" scene is great at the discovery and Lorens really opens it up to the enjoyment of the "affair."

Pretty funny first 30 mins or so. After that it's ok and then it's almost serious.

A little too "spoofish" than I'd want it to be.

WARNING: A good bit of nudity.
